The Erasmus+ Program was designed to promote student and teaching staff mobility in Europe.

All regularly enrolled, degree-seeking students of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics who are in at least their third university semester (at the time of departure) and all staff members of Bielefeld University can participate. There are no restrictions or other conditions.

International students

International students may also participate in the Erasmus+ Program given that they are not themselves exchange students at Bielefeld University. It is even possible to realize the exchange in your home country as far as a cooperative agreement exists. International students who have a permit to reside in Germany are usually allowed to stay up to 90 days in European countries of the Schengen Area other than Germany. Therefore, once a student’s application has been approved, it will be necessary to apply for a visa to study in the host country. This may mean that the German residence permit will be suspended for the period of your stay abroad.

The annual call is every November/December. The deadline is at the end of January.

The Erasmus+ Program has many benefits for students and staff:

  • Financial support
  • Simplified enrollment into the partner institutions
  • Simplified procedure for academic recognition of courses
  • Increasing  of language knowledge and intercultural skills
  • New contacts and international networks
